 It is not just the individual stupidities that have become inexcusable, such as the platforms that are repeatedly given to climate deniers.

It is the structural stupidity to which the media are beholden.
It is the anti-intellectualism, the hostility to new ideas, and the aversion to complexity.
It is the lack of moral seriousness.
It is the empty chatter about celebrities and consumer goods that takes precedence over the survival of life on Earth.
It is the obsession with making noise without regard for the signal.
It is the reflexive conformity to the status quo, whatever that may be.
It is the endless promotion of the views of the most selfish and anti-social people and the exclusion of those who seek to protect us from disaster.
