There is a different version of you in the minds of everyone who knows you.
I read a book that blew me away. The main character goes crazy when she realises that no one really knows her.
The gist is that the person you think is "yourself" only exists for you, and even you don't really know who that is. Every person you meet, have a relationship with or make eye contact with on the street creates a version of 'you' in their head. You are not the same person to your mother, your father, your siblings as you are to your colleagues, your neighbours or your friends. There are a thousand different versions of you that exist in people's heads. In each version there is a "you", and yet your "you", your "self", is not really a "someone" at all.
