“This life’s hard, but it’s harder if you’re stupid.” ― George V. Higgins, The Friends of Eddie Coyle

Real love is patient, kind and compassionate. It is not in a hurry, is not jealous, and doesn’t seek its own way. It is not easily angered, is willing to forgive, and ready to extend grace where it is needed.

Real love exercises self-control, turns away from criticizing others, and lives the truth. It protects, trusts, and always gives hope. It looks for the best in others, knows no limits, and gives without expecting anything back in return.

Real love is who you are. It’s the eternal divine within. It’s what connects you to all living things. And to experience this amazing gift is simply a matter of opening up your heart, surrendering the ego-self, and allowing the river to flow in you and through you.
