Impression

Normal MRA Brain.

Please see same day MRI brain IAC without contrast for further evaluation

Workstation performed: PASI19034

Narrative

MRA BRAIN WITHOUT CONTRAST

INDICATION: G45.0: Vertebro-basilar artery syndrome
R42: Dizziness and giddiness
G43.109: Migraine with aura, not intractable, without status migrainosus
H53.9: Unspecified visual disturbance

COMPARISON: Same day MRI brain IAC without contrast

TECHNIQUE: Axial 3-D time-of-flight imaging with 3-D reconstructions performed without contrast.

IV Contrast: Not administered.

FINDINGS:

IMAGE QUALITY: Diagnostic.

ANATOMY

INTERNAL CAROTID ARTERIES: Normal flow related signal of the distal cervical, petrous and cavernous segments of the internal carotid arteries. Normal ICA terminus.

ANTERIOR CIRCULATION: Normal A1 segments. Normal anterior communicating artery. Normal flow-related signal of the anterior cerebral arteries.

MIDDLE CEREBRAL ARTERY CIRCULATION: The M1 segment and middle cerebral artery branches demonstrate normal flow-related signal.

DISTAL VERTEBRAL ARTERIES: Distal vertebral arteries are patent with a normal vertebrobasilar junction. Right posterior inferior cerebellar artery origin is normal. Extradural origin of left posterior inferior cerebellar artery, normal variant.

BASILAR ARTERY: Developmentally small caliber of basilar artery is patent.

POSTERIOR CEREBRAL ARTERIES: Both posterior cerebral arteries arises from the basilar tip with hypoplastic right P1 segment. Both arteries demonstrate normal flow-related enhancement. Patent posterior communicating arteries.
